About this site
12 Zodiac Signs is an astrology publication for the tropical zodiac. The long guides — the twelve signs and the 78 compatibility pairs — are written as reference pages. They do not change every day, and they are not the same paragraph with the names swapped.
Horoscopes are different. A daily, weekly, or monthly reading is computed from planetary positions using Astronomy Engine, an open-source ephemeris. The Moon's sign, the solar houses relative to each sun sign, retrogrades, lunations, and close aspects are facts. The prose is a set of sign-specific lines chosen from those facts. The sky panel on each horoscope page is always calculated, never invented.
Pages cache that result and refresh on a schedule: hourly for daily readings, daily for weekly, weekly for monthly. That way each reading always matches the current sky.
The birth chart and the "what's my sign" tool run the same ephemeris. Birth details are used for that calculation and are not written to a database. City search uses a bundled extract of GeoNames cities with more than 15,000 people.
The site is free to read and is supported by advertising through Google AdSense. Astrology on these pages is for entertainment and reflection. It is not a substitute for professional advice. Read the disclaimer.
How our guides are written
Guides on this site are published by the 12 Zodiac Signs Editorial Team. That is the name we use for the site's editorial process, not a person. We do not invent astrologer personas or credentials.
Each guide is drafted from the long-standing meanings of the signs, planets, and houses in Western tropical astrology, then edited for clarity, accuracy, and repetition. Any date or sky position in a guide — a retrograde, a lunation, the moment the Sun changes sign — is calculated with Astronomy Engine rather than copied from elsewhere. If we cannot calculate a claim, we leave it out. We do not publish made-up statistics or quotes.
Astrology is presented as a tradition of interpretation, not as proven science. Guides are reviewed when the sky they describe changes, and every guide shows the date it was last updated. Spot a mistake? Write to us and we will correct it.
